In May Utah Valley State College will host the 21st annual Auto Expo and Swap Meet. The event continually welcomes thousands of spectators and has more than 600 car entries which are eligible for over 110 awards. The Auto Expo is among the largest car shows in Utah and includes local car clubs and unique private collections. Due to the amazing growth of the show, the Auto Expo committee decided to move the event out to Thanksgiving Point 2 years ago. It turned out to be a wonderful venue for the show and will allow for much more growth in the future. The activities start with a pre-event social at Barber Brothers in Spanish Fork on Friday afternoon. Later in the day the cars will cruise from Barber Brothers to Utah Lake State Park. The cruise concludes at the UVSC Auto Trades compound with live music and a barbeque. Not only is there great food and entertainment on Friday evening, it is a great opportunity to see the facility here at UVSC and talk to someone about the Auto Trades Program. The car show follows on Saturday with a day filled with great cars and family entertainment. In addition to the car show, part of the package is the largest Automotive Swap Meet in Utah that draws people from all over the northwest. I challenge you to see all there is to see and do in the one day and remember that all proceeds exceeding show costs will be donated to scholarships for auto, diesel and collision repair students at UVSC. Great cars, great entertainment and a great cause what more could you ask for?
